GodDAMMIT I forgot to answer my own math question and my comment disappeared!

So, to repeat:

To Sharilyn: it was definitely a WTF moment: you run into Howard in the middle of NYC and a few hours later we're sitting having a nice talk with him! I hope his buddies didn't tease him too much: hopefully they could see we weren't the typical groupie types and not ones to run off with near-strangers in any situation, no matter who they are.

To Donna: hello and thanks for commenting! Howard seemed to be doing well; he said he still does a lot of standup all over the country and he seemed happy. It was really nice of him to take the time to talk to us, especially when he was probably bummed that the show was cancelled. He said normally they get a really good crowd there; I think maybe they started advertising a little too late that week. I couldn't believe how much he looks the same as during JSS! He must have a bottle of magic anti-aging pills somewhere. :-)

This is Donna, a former roommate of Howard's from way, way back in the 70's. Nice to hear a little bit about what he is up to.

Poor Howard... I keep thinking of his standup buddies giving him the thumbs-up as they left, probably asking him the next day whether he scored with us. Sweet man, but... no.

Such a great example of how anything can happen in NYC. I'm at the TKTS booth buying a ticket to a matinee, and 12 hours later I'm sitting across from the costar of my favourite tv show of all-time. And turning him down. :-)
