I know, it's surprising that the other centers don't do graduation shows at all levels. I thought for sure Second City would, but I know someone who did their classes and they don't. (I mean the standalone classes, not the Conservatory classes; they might have shows at every level for that.) Maybe they think there won't be enough audience? But I can't imagine Second City having a problem filling their seats, even for the worst act in town. I had seriously thought about doing a session in Chicago but if they don't have a performance at the end, I probably won't. It's just too valuable an experience and if I can get it at UCB, I'll stick with them.

You were doing an alligator?! I'm sorry, I thought it was a shark! Although I think they were in Florida (in the scene), weren't they? So an alligator does make more sense. Well still, the visual is what made it a very effective walk-on.

I'm shocked that other training centres don't have shows for every level! I checked the SC site, and you're right... Toronto thankfully has shows from level C onwards, but still... you can learn so much in the classroom, but you really do have to get out there.

I'm glad you did well at your show! From the way you talk, it seems like your class didn't really bond as strongly as ours. Granted, it's hard to imagine any class bonding like ours... they're all hanging out together every week in NYC now, while I'm stuck in the middle of Canada, not that I'm *bitter* or anything!

Ah yes, my oh so brilliant alligator-that-everyone-thought-was-a-shark. I have to thank the Arrogant Worms and their song "Rippy the Gator" for planting those seeds. :-)

Such a trip being on that stage, isn't it? A lot of people take it for granted, too. Everyone always looks at Second City as the big deal, but really, what's happening *now* is UCB. We're catching the tail end of what will be someday be considered the golden age of that place. We'll be old and wrinkled and watching a documentary on PBS about it, trying to convince our grandkids that we were there.
