Bye Bye Life
Just found out that Roy Scheider has died. All That Jazz was, is, one of my favorite movies ever and one of the first “adult” (edit: make that “grown-up”) movies I ever saw, and I still remember the first time I saw it and how entranced I was. I must have watched it 50 or more times by now. His portrayal of Joe Gideon (which was really a portrayal of Bob Fosse) is one of the shining stars of acting. Along with his Chief Brody in Jaws–a part that cannot be imagined with anyone else in it.
Goodbye, Mr. Scheider. It’s showtime.
